21st Feb 08, One of the The “Evening Star” Witches new signings for 2008 is looking forward to the coming season. Popular Aussie Steve Johnston won the title with the Coventry Bees last season is raring to go for 2008.
The last time he figured for the Witches was 1997, all Witches fans will remember the following year, and many will be hoping that Johnno, who also won a league title with Oxford, will be a lucky talisman for the coming season.
Speaking after arriving back in the country yesterday he said “I’m looking forward to meeting up with the guys, the team looks good to me.”
Witches rider manager Chris Louis has identified “Johnno” as a key part of the side for 2008. ” Steve enjoyed riding with us in his previous time at Foxhall and I am sure he will again. he is like the rest of us. As he proved with Coventry last season - if you are relaxed in your enviroment and surroundings you will do well.
