Simmons feels confident ahead of season opener

13th Mar 08 Witches team manager Pete Simmons is in a confident mood ahead of the season opener at Foxhall tonight. Speaking earlier in the week he commented on how the side had a good balanced look to it
“I hope everyone will agree we have put together a solid looking team which Im sure is very capable of taking us into the play offs come September, as long as we stay injury free and everybody gives me 110% effort.”

The Witches started their season in perfect style recording a 14 point win at old rivals the Kings Lynn Stars last night and will looking to secure the East Anglian trophy at Foxhall tonight. the following week Simmons admits will be a tough test. “Next Friday we entertain Lakeside in our opening Craven Shield matches and race two meetings in the one day, so its a good test of man and machine, Lakeside look to have a strong looking team so it will be early proof of our team strength. ”
