COVENTRY received something a rude awakening at Monmore Green as their Craven Shield defence got off to a losing start in the first local derby of the season.
18th Mar 08 After last weeks warm up challenge matches against the Kings Lynn Stars, the Evening Star Ipswich Witches will commence their competitive season with an extremely attractive fixture against local rivals Lakeside
Hammers at Foxhall Stadium in the Craven Shield on Good Friday afternoon at 2.30pm. Later in the day the two teams will meet again in the same competition at the Purfleet Raceway at 8pm.
As has become traditional with the Good Friday meeting at Foxhall there will be various additional attractions for children including a Bouncy Castle, face painting and free Easter Eggs. Children under the age of 15 will be admitted free of charge to the meeting on Good Friday if accompanied by a paying adult and have a voucher from the Evening Star. Evening Stars will be available at the entrance of the meeting.
