21st Mar 08 The “Evening Star” Witches have slipped to a disappointing defeat in their Craven Shield match with the Lakeside Hammers at Foxhall this afternoon. On a cold and blustery afternoon a good sized crowd were
treated to a close contest in the early stages of the match with both sides locked at 18-18 after 6 heats. The Hammers then took a heat advantage in heat 7 before further extending it in heat 10. Despite two late heat advantages in heats 14 and 15 the Witches still fell short of their visitors by 4 points.

21st Mar 08 The “Evening Star” Witches have bounced back in spectacular style to record a 12 point victory at the Arena-Essex Raceway tonight and at the same time avenge this afternoons 4 point defeat at Foxhall.
An impressive paid 16 points from No 2 Piotr Swiderski paved the way for a quick revenge victory an take the Witches to the top of their Craven Shield group.
