Glasgow did have a free Sunday available on Sunday 6th July, however Stoke are racing at Edinburgh on 4th July, back home to Stoke on the 5th, and that would have meant two trips to Scotland in 3 days.

23rd June The “Evening Star” Witches have made a disappointing return to league action after a two week break with a 14 point defeat in Manchester tonight. Despite the scores level at heat 8 the Witches fell away in the second half of the meeting failing to register a heat winner after the halfway stage.
